Roger ran a black & white custom lab and worked in sales at The Camera Center in downtown Sacramento for 14 years. While doing this he met and married Joan, did photography on the side and photographed the live performances for The Sacramento Ballet and then the Sacramento Opera. Roger loves low light photography, and the mystery and magic that comes from catching moments in transitory situations, what Roger calls 'the moments between the moments'. Roger also has a real love for animals, and the fine tuning of images that comes from printing black and white. Thus the studios creative focus of 'People, Pets and Copy & Restoration'.
Joan worked for the State of California full time as an accountant and assisted Roger at the studio. She retired from the State and continues to help out at the studio part time. Joan is a pure creative, loves playing with colors and designs, has had many creative hobbies, and she is now working on learning silver smithing. Where Roger is the creative problem solver Joan is the creative artist – together they make quite a creative team.
